A Spiritual Milestone for Lac Ste. Anne

His Holiness Pope Francis attended the Lac Ste. Anne Pilgrimage in 2022. Lac Ste. Anne is the site of one of Canada’s most famous Catholic pilgrimages, and a place of spiritual significance for the nation’s Indigenous Peoples.

A focused and coordinated effort from multiple levels of government was required to ensure a safe and memorable experience as possible while minimizing any negative impacts on local communities. By provincial estimates, there were more than 25,000 attendees at the 2022 pilgrimage. That's roughly five times higher than most years.
