Guidance for Regional Agricultural Initiatives

Lac Ste. Anne County's Agricultural Services Board (ASB) is an advisory body to Council. It provides vital expertise and resources to help manage weed, pest, soil and water conservation programs, assist in the control of livestock diseases, promote and develop agricultural policies, undertake projects referred to them by County Council, and assist with the preparation of the County's Agricultural Services budget. The ASB is bound by the terms of the Agricultural Service Board Act.

Guiding Policies of the Agricultural Services Board

Implementation of agricultural policies and the obligations of enforcement are specified under various Government of Alberta Acts including the acts listed below.

At Lac Ste. Anne County, we pride ourselves on our focus on safety, learning, and a fun work environment. In this position, you would be introduced to vegetation management; legislation governing municipal weed control; identification of legislated weeds, crop diseases, and pests; operating a variety of spray equipment; as well as how to safely handle and apply herbicides. This makes for an excellent summer seasonal position for students, as well as providing you a stepping stone towards potential full-time positions upon graduation. About the County

Founded in 1944, Lac Ste. Anne County is a municipal district in central Alberta, Canada. It is located in Census Division 13, roughly 45 minutes northwest of Edmonton. The County's administrative office is located at 56521 Range Road 65. Its namesake comes from its largest body of water, Lac Ste. Anne.
