The next municipal election is on Monday October 16, 2017. Nomination papers are only received by the Returning Officer between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the County Administration Office.
In Lac Ste. Anne County, each of the electoral divisions elects one Councillor. To be nominated as a candidate in an electoral division, the person must be a resident of the division for six consecutive months prior to nomination day.
The term of office is for four years. There is no limit on the number of times a Councillor can be re-elected.
Seeking Election Workers
Lac Ste. Anne County is seeking Presiding Deputy Returning Officers (PDROs) and Deputy Returning Officers (DROs) to assist at the 2017 Municipal Election. Previous municipal election experience would be an asset. Successful candidates MUST attend the orientation day on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 and/or Thursday, October 5, 2017 and may be required to participate in the Advance Vote being held on Friday, October 6, 2017 in Sangudo, Alberta and on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in Gunn, Alberta. Successful candidates must be prepared to participate on Election Day October 16, 2017.
