Lac Ste. Anne County is experiencing an unprecedented amount of frozen culverts and ditch glaciation. This was precipitated by artic temperatures, minimal insulating snow cover and ground water continuing to run during the winter.
Public Works employees are actively thawing cross culverts throughout the area on numerous roads and approaches within our borders. Thawing culverts is a very time consuming and challenging process. When the warmer weather arrives it will take some time for the culverts to fully thaw and handle the increases in water volume. This may result in water pooling near our infrastructure. Please be advised to use caution while driving and slow down while crossing these affected areas.
