Meet Your County Councillors

Lac Ste. Anne County Council is made up of seven elected representatives, including one Reeve and six ward Councillors. The Reeve is elected by Lac Ste. Anne County Council. The Council is the decision-making body responsible for ensuring sustainable growth and infrastructure, a vibrant economic climate and turning community needs into municipal services. Council is committed to strategically positioning this entire organization for success for today and into the future.

The Council governs by passing Bylaws and policy which become County laws and regulations. The Council also makes performance auditing decisions and monitors the operation and performance of county agencies and holds regular oversight on county departments to determine how programs are working and whether budgeted funds are being spent well. In its decision-making roles, the County Council actively involves public through its regular meets and various public commissions and committees.

The current Council was elected in October, 2017 and serves a four-year term.


Attending and Participating in Council Meetings

Public Council meetings are held the second and fourth Thursday of each month unless otherwise noted. Council welcomes all to attend and observe Council meetings. Those who wish to present information to Council are encouraged to review Section (Delegations and Appointments) of Lac Ste. Anne County Bylaw #17-20 (17-2015 Procedure Bylaw).

Lac Ste. Anne County is a governing body in central Alberta, Canada. Its administrative office is located at 56521, Range Road 65, Lac Ste. Anne County, near the Hamlet of Sangudo — about an hour's drive west of Edmonton. Founded in 1944, Lac Ste.
