Getting into Horticulture - Preparing to Plant Field Crops (fruits and vegetables)

Description

Steps to prepare for planting horticulture field crops.

Your site is chosen and assessed. What are the next steps for getting it ready for planting? With soil health in mind, Rob Spencer, Spencer Horticultural Solutions, discusses considerations such as soil amendments, pre-plant weed control, types of equipment, and strategies to meet the early fertility needs for a range of horticulture field crops (vegetables and fruits).

Bring your questions for Rob during the Q&A time at the end of the meeting. This session will be recorded for participants to view for 30 days following the presentation. This workshop is one in a series of extension events, taking interested growers from planning to production. This session will benefit new producers getting into farming and established farmers looking for new ventures.
