Road Maintenance Programs
Routine care of County-owned roadways
The County cares for more than 2,000 km of municipal roads across all seasons. County road crews are responsible for seasonal repairs and upkeep of local roads, while the Province contracts Emcon Services for provincial highways.
Regular maintenance includes road repairs, cold mix overlays, cold-mix patching, graveling, dust suppression, hydro axing, mowing, and winter maintenance such as snow plowing. Learn more about these programs below.

Snow Removal
ROAD REPONSIBILITIES
The Province is responsible for clearing all provincial highways. The County maintains range roads, township roads and subdivision roads. Public Works crews work to the best of their ability to clear County-owned roads under a variety of conditions.

SNOWPLOW FLAGS
Any property owner or occupant in the County can enlist the help of the Public Works department to clear snow from their private driveways following a snowfall. County-issued snowplow flags can be purchased at participating locations for $25 each.
