Enrol your 3 or 4 year old in the County's popular playschool program! Space is limited, so remember to register early to avoid disappointment. Program Fees and Online Payment Option

 

Please note that online registration is now closed – please call 780.785.3411 to register or be added to the wait-list.

 

Program fees for the 2023-24 school year.

For your convenience, online registration is available during registration time windows, but a non-refundable convenience fee will be charged by Activenet. First-time users of the online registration system will be required to set up an account, including profiles for both the student and the parent/guardian. All online registrations must be paid in full by credit card to complete the transaction.

Registration opened Monday, June 5, 2023.

Refunds

In the event that your family moves, or that you decide your child wasn’t ready to participate in the program, refunds will be issued on a pro-rated basis. To request a refund, please contact Community Services Manager Donna Kerr at 780.785.3411 (toll-free 1.866.880.5722) or dkerr (@) LSAC.ca.

Wait Lists

Should any class fill to capacity, a waitlist will be taken. If spots become available, they will be filled from the waitlist, in the order the waitlist was taken.

AFFORDABILITY GRANT
Currently, the provincial Affordability Grant fully covers the cost of the playschool program.

Should this grant cease, parents/guardians will be provided the option to continue in the program and be invoiced for any outstanding fees on a pro-rated basis.

Program Details for the 2023-24 School Year

General Information

Classroom Location:  Onoway Heritage Centre

One (1) day per week option: Wednesday ONLY 3/4 year old class 12:30 - 3:00 pm

Two (2) day per week options: Monday/Thursday OR Tuesday/Friday

Registration will be limited to Lac Ste. Anne County area residents including those living within Town of Onoway, Alberta Beach, or any of the Summer Villages within the County boundaries. Onoway Elementary School catchment area is also acceptable.

Maximum enrollment per child of two days per week.

Morning classes - two days/week
9:00 – 11:30 am
Designated for three-year olds. Child must be at least three years old before attending, and priority will be given to those turning three by December 31, 2023.

Afternoon classes- two days/week
12:30 – 3:00 pm
Designated for four-year olds.
Child must be turning four by December 31, 2023.

Mid-year starts are permitted. Children must be fully potty-trained. Parent Helper Days may be required.

Program Subsidy

Currently, the Province of Alberta is providing Lac Ste. Anne County with access to the Affordability Grant which will fully cover the cost of the program. If the Affordability Grant were to cease, parents/guardians would be provided the option to continue in the program and be invoiced for any outstanding fees on a pro-rated basis.

Important Dates for the 2023-24 School Year

  • Monday, Sept 11, 2023: Program commences – a staggered start may be implemented

  • Friday, December 15, 2023: last day of classes before Christmas break

  • Monday, January 8, 2024: first day of classes after Christmas break

  • Friday, June 14, 2024: Program ends

In addition to the above-noted dates, Onoway Playschool will follow the Northern Gateway Public Schools 2023-24 Official School Year Calendar, and not operate on non-school days. Also, please note, if buses are cancelled for Onoway Elementary School due to inclement weather (extreme snow fall, freezing rain, extreme cold temperatures), Onoway Playschool will not operate.
