Reclamation Process Begins as Area Wildfires are Deemed Contained

As Area Wildfires are Deemed Contained the Reclamation Process Begins for Affected Land Owners

We understand that many of our residents have been impacted by the recent wildfire events and the aftermath. As the fires are now under control, and evacuation alerts have been rescinded the County has received inquiries regarding the reclamation process.

We want to reassure our community that LSAC is actively looking at various avenues to provide support to those who have been affected by the fire. However, at this time, we advise our ratepayers to contact their insurance companies to cover the costs of repairing any damage resulting from fighting the fire, such as cut fences, cat tracks, and cat guards, etc.

We also urge affected residents to lobby the province and request assistance in covering reclamation costs.

We remind everyone that we are still in the midst of wildfire season and potentially facing record-setting temperatures in the coming weeks, it is essential that we all take responsibility for ensuring we get through it safely and remain vigilant.

We are all in this together, and we will continue to work tirelessly to support our community during this difficult time. Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and patience.
