Facebook is a widely-used platform in rural Alberta. Not surpisingly, Facebook is also the most popular of the County's social media channels. News updates, events and job opportunities are routinely cross-posted to Facebook from the County website. The County also reviews and responds to ratepayer messages on Facebook as resources allow.

The County's Instagram channel is rapidly gaining in popularity. It's a great place to explore images and short sound bites from different County departments, or to post images of your own with the #lsacounty hashtag. Lost your dog? Mug shots and identification notes appear on the Instagram channel as soon as dogs are found by an Enforcement Officer.

YouTube

From time to time, the County and its departments produce video content of interest to different audiences and age groups. You'll find a growing archive of this content on the County's YouTube channel. Fun fact: as soon as this channel hits 100 subscribers, it will qualify for a custom channel name. Twitter is known for creating unrestricted channels of clear, concise communication. It's a great way to keep up to speed on County matters as they happen. Whenever the County posts important news, a shorter snippet (280 characters) will also be posted to its Twitter channel. If you follow the County on Twitter, this news will automatically appear in your feed!

LinkedIn is still the de-facto business-related social platform. As such, the County's LinkedIn channel contains general organizational and contact information, as well as media releases, job opportunities, and posts in text and video format. It's a good way to get some good baseline information about Lac Ste. Anne County.

Zoom

The County has begun to host virtual public hearings and Council sessions due to COVID-19 restrictions, and Zoom is its vidoconferencing platform of choice. Zoom is free to use, and works on all browsers, devices and operating systems. When the County advertises a virtual meeting, it will include a link to the Zoom session, plus any login credentials you need.

Farm FireSmart

Conceived by County Fire Chief Randy Schroeder, endorsed by FireSmart Canada and augmented by a growing cadre of progressive Fire Services divisions like the Whitecourt Fire Department, Farm FireSmart was established to help identify and address the unique challenges faced by farmers, ranchers and acreage owners as they prepare for wildfire — or better yet, prevent its occurrence in the first place.

Onoway Regional Medical Clinic

In January of 2017, six municipal partners (Lac Ste. Anne Coutny; the Town of Onoway; and the Summer Villages of Ross Haven, West Cove, Silver Sands and Val Quentin) assumed operations of Onoway Regional medical Clinic. With its conventient location next to the pharmacy in Onoway, the clinic's friendly and knowledgeable staff provide a spectrum of essential service from routine check-ups to more specialized treatments. The Clinic's online presence consists of its Facebook page.

Shop the County is a purpose-built online directory that instantly locates and showcases Lac Ste. Anne businesses by name, category or community. Any local businesses with an active Lac Ste.
